A "giclee" (pronounced gee-clay) is a high-quality, special-process reproduction of an original artwork onto an archival surface. For example: an oil painting on canvas may be reproduced as a giclee onto stretched canvas and new, hand-touched oil paint details added by the artist, with the artist's signature on the back. A watercolor painting may be reproduced onto watercolor paper. A giclee, while not as valuable as an original painting, retains more value than a print, and is usually a limited edition.
